Candle Light Sports Development (CLSD) gives talented, driven youth the resources, coaching and guidance they need to reach their highest standard and fulfil their full potential — on and off the pitch.

Structured training across every age division, from first touch to match tactics.
Equipment, mentorship and support for driven young players who need it most.
Helping players aged 5–17 reach their highest standard, on and off the pitch.
For years, our founder has personally self-funded CLSD's operations in Johannesburg — driven by a deep belief in its vision of developing quality football players from the community. We're now seeking external funding to expand our reach, upgrade our equipment, and support more young athletes.
Real sessions from the pitch — agility work, match play and the discipline that builds our players.

Grant brings over 20 years of coaching experience across South African leagues to CLSD. Known for persistence, discipline and the ability to perform under pressure, he focuses on teamwork, commitment, accountability and motivation — the same values CLSD instils in every player.
His background spans performance analysis, individualised training plans, injury recovery support and conditioning programs designed to help players reach their peak on the field.

Recognising every player's commitment and consistency — a small ceremony that means a great deal to the kids and their families.

From first-touch beginners to our U17 group, CLSD players train together under one banner, one badge and one set of values.
